L’Unione Belga di Speleologia organizza un evento di condivisione delle esperienze e delle scoperte degli esploratori sotterranei
Nel panorama delle attività speleologiche in Belgio, dopo ben cinque anni di attesa, torna l’atteso appuntamento con i RDV de l’Explo.
L’ultimo incontro si tenne a Comblain-au-Pont nel dicembre del 2018.
Durante questo lungo periodo, gli speleologi belgi, provenienti da ogni angolo del paese, non hanno certo rimasto le braccia incrociate.
La ComExplo dell’UBS ha sentito il dovere di rilanciare l’organizzazione di questo evento per permettere loro di condividere le loro avventure.
In collaborazione con il rinomato club locale “Spéléo-Lux”, il programma del sabato 2 dicembre prevede una decina di presentazioni che copriranno una vasta gamma di argomenti.
Molti esploratori attivi avranno l’opportunità di mostrare i risultati delle loro ricerche e scoperte, sia in Belgio che in altri luoghi d’Europa e del mondo.
La giornata di sabato inizierà alle 9:00 con le registrazioni e darà il via alle presentazioni alle 9:30.
Tra i temi affrontati, ci saranno lavori come Avalon Belgique, WallonMap, nuove grotte come il Poudingue, e la topografia aggiornata del Trou d’Haquin.
Questi sono solo alcuni degli argomenti che verranno affrontati durante il corso della giornata.
Durante la pausa pranzo, sarà possibile gustare una deliziosa zuppa di stagione, il tutto a un prezzo conveniente.
Sarà anche disponibile un bar per soddisfare le esigenze di tutti i partecipanti.
Nel pomeriggio, dopo una breve pausa, le presentazioni riprenderanno con argomenti come le spedizioni a Rigotte/Vannon, Capéran e Anialarra in Francia, nonché le esplorazioni in Messico.
La giornata di sabato si concluderà con una serata dedicata alla proiezione di film speleologici belgi.
Il programma della domenica prevede invece un’azione sul campo condotta dal Gruppo di Lavoro “Désob” nella regione di Calestienne, nel cuore del Geopark, nelle vicinanze di Marche.
L’obiettivo sarà dare una mano ai colleghi dello Spéléo-Lux per avanzare su due cantieri che richiedono manodopera e attrezzature per sondare l’ignoto.
Uno dei lavori riguarderà il “Biesson”, un pozzo di 4-5 metri di profondità, dove si cercherà di svuotare l’acqua per seguire il corso verso il celebre Trotti aux Fosses e la risorgiva del Sourd d’Aiwe.
L’altro lavoro si concentrerà sullo sblocco e allargamento di una piccola sezione nel Trou “Gus”, che potrebbe offrire un accesso al tratto attivo tra il Trotti e la risorgiva del Sourd d’Aiwe.
Durante la giornata, i partecipanti avranno l’opportunità di visitare anche la grotta di la Ducasse, che offre una vista suggestiva e una possibile traversata attraverso l’ingresso superiore per i più avventurosi.

Si ricorda che, per chi lo desidera, sarà possibile trascorrere la notte da sabato a domenica presso il rifugio dello Spéléo Lux, previa prenotazione.
L’evento sarà anche l’occasione per SpéléRoc di fornire attrezzature speleologiche direttamente sul posto, e la Librairie Spéléo sarà presente con uno stand ben fornito.

Rendez-Vous de L’Explo 2023: A Must-Attend Event for Cave Explorers
The Belgian Speleological Union organizes an event to share experiences and discoveries of underground explorers
In the realm of caving activities in Belgium, after a long-awaited five-year hiatus, the highly anticipated RDV de l’Explo is making its return. The last gathering took place in Comblain-au-Pont in December 2018.
During this extended period, Belgian cave explorers from all corners of the country have by no means been idle.
The ComExplo of the UBS felt the need to revive the organization of this event to allow them to share their adventures.
In collaboration with the renowned local club “Spéléo-Lux,” the program for Saturday, December 2nd, features around ten presentations covering a wide range of topics.
Many active explorers will have the opportunity to showcase the results of their research and discoveries, both in Belgium and other locations throughout Europe and the world.
Saturday’s program will commence at 9:00 am with registrations and kick off the presentations at 9:30 am.
Among the topics to be addressed are works such as Avalon Belgique, WallonMap, new caves like Poudingue, and updated topography of Trou d’Haquin.
These are just a few of the subjects that will be covered throughout the day.
During the lunch break, participants can enjoy a delicious seasonal soup at an affordable price.
A bar will also be available to cater to the needs of all attendees. In the afternoon, after a short break, the presentations will resume with topics including expeditions to Rigotte/Vannon, Capéran, and Anialarra in France, as well as explorations in Mexico.
Saturday’s program will conclude with an evening dedicated to the screening of Belgian caving films.
Sunday’s program, on the other hand, entails fieldwork conducted by the “Désob” Working Group in the Calestienne region, in the heart of the Geopark, near Marche.
The objective will be to lend a hand to the colleagues of Spéléo-Lux in advancing two work sites that require manpower and equipment to probe the unknown.
One of the tasks will involve the “Biesson,” a 4-5 meter deep shaft, where efforts will be made to pump out the water to follow its course towards the renowned Trotti aux Fosses and the resurgence of Sourd d’Aiwe.
The other task will focus on unblocking and widening a small section in the “Gus” Shaft, which could provide access to the active segment between Trotti and the resurgence of Sourd d’Aiwe.
Throughout the day, participants will also have the opportunity to visit La Ducasse Cave, which offers breathtaking views and a possible traverse through the upper entrance for the more adventurous.
