1st Magheb Congres of Speleology

Si è svolto in Tunisia dal 18 al 21 Marzo 2023 il primo Congresso di Speleologia Maghrebide, organizzato dalla Associazione Speleologica Tunisina e dall’Istituto di Scienze Ambientali e Tecnologiche di Borj Cédria, avente come finalità la condivisione delle esperienze degli studi carsici e speleologici condotti nei paesi dell’arco Maghebide Africano.
Al riguardo, il CIRS Ragusa ha partecipato con la presentazione di due lavori di cui il primo Karst Geomorphology of Cyrenaica (north-east Libya), riguardante le ricerche sul Carsismo della Cirenaica, condotte negli anni 2007-2008-2009 e 2022 in collaborazione con l’Università di Benghazi; il secondo Karst Geosites of Egyptian desert, sui rilievi carso geomorfologici condotti dal CIRS nel deserto egiziano negli anni 2000, 2001 e nel 2006 con a seguito un team di Rai 3 per la realizzazione di un documentario per la trasmissione Mediterraneo.
1st Magheb Congres of Speleology
The first Congress of Maghreb Speleology was held in Tunisia from 18 to 21 March 2023, organized by the Tunisian Speleological Association and the High Institute of Environmental and Technological Sciences of Borj Cédria with the aim of sharing the experiences of karst and speleological studies conducted in the countries of the African Maghebide arc. In this regard, the CIRS participated with the presentation of two works, the first of which Karst Geomorphology of Cyrenaica (north-east Libya), concerning the research on the Karst of Cyrenaica, conducted in the years 2007-2008-2009 and 2022 in collaboration with the Benghazi University; the second Karst Geosites of Egyptian desert, on the karst geomorphological surveys conducted by CIRS in the Egyptian desert in 2000, 2001 and 2006 followed by a Rai 3 team for a documentary for the Mediterraneanprogramme.
