The 25th Conference on Subterranean Biology is now planned to be held as a hybrid conference with both physical and online attendance possible.
The conference is planned to be held at Cluj-Napoca in Romania from 18-21 July 2022 with a post conference tour on the 22nd of July.

Founded in January of 1979 under the name Société de Biospéologie, as one of the most representative French Scientific Societies concerned by karst areas, caves and subterranean habitats. During 1980-2000 it evolved towards an International Scientific Society and since 2000 it is under the name of Société Internationale de Biospéologie – International Society for Subterranean Biology.
The society main objectives are the promotion of scientific research as well as conservation activities in biology of subterranean habitats. The society promotes spreading of scientific knowledge related to subterranean ecosystems, promotes education and raising of public awareness on importance of these habitats, as well as contributes to the conservation and proper management of subterranean habitats and their biodiversity.
